Re:Member: Fuelling Up Your Peg City Car

Re:Member is a series of helpful tips and reminders for Peg City Car Co-op members.

Let’s talk about Fuel!

Whether you’re a long-time member in need of a refresher, or a curious driver wondering how we do things, let’s talk about how to fuel up your Peg City co-op vehicle. We always cover the cost of fuel!

Being a carshare member means you don’t need to worry about monthly insurance payments or ongoing maintenance, but it does mean making sure the vehicle is tidy and fuelled up before your booking ends. Members are required to fuel up the vehicle when the gauge dips below 1/4 of a tank. Be sure to budget a little extra time when you make your bookings to allow for the time to fuel up.

There are two ways to pay for fuel: using our fuel card, or paying out of pocket.

• If you use our Red River Co-op fuel card, you can fill up, scan our card, and be on your way.
• If you need to pay out of pocket at a non-Red River Co-op gas station, we will reimburse you with driving credit in the amount of your fuel purchase.

Using the Red River Co-op Card

In the glove compartment of each vehicle, you’ll find a pencil pouch, a tiny little stapler, pens, and a log book. Whether you are using the Red River Co-op card, or are paying out of pocket at a non-Red River Co-op gas station, fill out the pertinent logbook information, and staple the receipt to the entry. Some of our vehicles have two glove compartments (fancy!) so check both spots when looking for the fuel pouch.

If you need a copy of the receipt, please take a picture for your records, or ask the station attendant to print two copies. You may also keep the second copy of the logbook for your records. Reimbursements appear as a credit on your account within 1-2 invoice cycles. Remember to return the fuel card and pouch to the glove compartment when you are done!

Since most of our members only drive occasionally, it’s not a bad idea to review the self-led Member Orientation every now and again, for details on reimbursements, responsibilities, and more.

Speaking of Driving Credit … Want to Earn a Little Extra?

Members can earn driving credits through posting photos on social media about their carsharing trips, referring a friend to Peg City, or even by washing a car! If you’re interested in learning more about these driving credit opportunities, get in touch at info [at] pegcitycarcoop.ca.
