*Additional fees may be applied in such cases as a late cancellation of a reservation, not immobilizing the vehicle, returning the vehicle late, leaving the interior of the car dirty, smoking in the vehicle, parking/traffic tickets, etc. Details of these fees are outlined in our member manual.
A fuel surcharge addresses unpredictable gas prices while keeping rates stable and fair and may be added to the per kilometre driving rate. The surcharge is calculated based on average gas prices in Winnipeg that month and is applied once the price of gas is above $1.20/litre. At that point, the surcharge increases by one cent for every 10 cent increase in the price of a litre of gas. For example, if the average price of gas in Winnipeg is $1.40/litre, the fuel surcharge would be $0.02 so the total cost would be $0.36/km.

What is carsharing?

Carsharing is a membership based service that provides flexible transportation solutions for individuals, families, and companies. Members receive an access key and and online account that allows them to book a vehicle, where they want it, when they want it. We are a two-way carsharing service which means that users bring the car back to the same locations when they are done with their booking.

What is included?

Vehicle access – Choose between cars, vans, hybrids and electrics
Gas – We cover the cost of gas and if you fill up at Red River Co-op, you can use our corporate gas card
Insurance – We cover the cost of insurance. Choose from our basic insurance, CLDI, or our in house damage pool coverage. Learn more
Cleaning – We clean all of our cars on a regular basis. Got a car real dirty while using it? No problem, wash the car, leave a receipt, and we will reimburse you.

How do I know if it’s the right fit for me?

You primarily get around by walking, biking or transit but would sometimes like the convenience of access to a car for trips around the city. You want the convenience of access to a second car without the added cost. You don’t own or are thinking of selling your car. You are paying a lot for parking or your building doesn’t provide parking.

How does carsharing work?

Think of it as a library book that you borrow and then return. Co-op vehicles are always found in the same designated parking spot. Members make their bookings online. They head over to the area where they reserved a car, and then drive it as if it were their very own. Before the booking time expires, the car is returned to the same designated parking spot.

Locations

We have 24 vehicles located in and around central Winnipeg. Have a look at the map to find the vehicle that is closest to you!
